This image was taken at MP C1+25 poles, and therefore it is in Missouri near 29th Street. It depicts an engine and caboose, which on on their way to Rosedale, where the crew would pick-up a waiting train to take south. It was typical practice for called crews to pick-up their power and caboose at 19th. Rosedale was the outbound yard; 19th Street was the inbound yard, coach yard, and the location where the motive power and cabooses were serviced.

Good eye, Karl – I can see the line pole markings just to the right of 929. Would the overpass in the background be for I-35?
Thanks also for the operational details – it has always seemed like a peculiar arrangement, the inbound/outbound yards in KC.
The OP is 27th Street
Th title should read 929, not 925. There are several pics of this train later on down the line setting out cars in Lenexa.
