This is the Mechanical Department’s engine service facility at Cherokee Yard. The curved rear wall of the Tulsa roundhouse can be seen in the distance beyond the locomotive’s nose. This former steam locomotive shop would soon be replaced during an expansion and modernization of facilities at the yard.
