I believe that the 572 is resting before the diesel shop at Lindenwood.
Agree with Karl. The locomotive in the photograph is on track 2 at the diesel shop in Lindenwood, MO (St. Louis). Supported by numerous photographs and personal observation, the diesel shop at Springfield did not have windows above the track doors.
