First steam locomotive I ever ran. About 1950 as a ten year old, I rode around Pacific on this engine with my Dad, who was the engineer. It was the “Pacific Switcher” which left Lindenwood about 1 PM, went to Pacific, switched out the gravel pits leaving empties and bringing full ones back to St. Louis.
We went out to the pit right at the west end at Pacific and Dad let me run her off the wye track back into town. Fireman was amazed at me doing a correct crossing whistle. I was in seventh heaven.
