I don’t know where this is, but the location is very modelable.

The first two photos show what may be a station foundation between the photographer and the road.

The third photo shows the train crossing what appears to be a trestle. The the three ACL covered hoppers (or are the SCL covered hoppers) are on top of the structure, so that gives us an estimate of length.

I believe that this is Harrelson, MO, D32.8, on the Clinton Sub. Depending upon the era, the train is either 59 or 1311.

    Karl,

Do you have any idea what that foundation was for?

Your father’s field drawings don’t show anything between the main and siding, they do show a concrete unloading ramp and a stock pen.

Just to clarify, the stock pen and ramp would have been to the photographer’s left.

    Karl,

Could this maybe be East Lynn instead?

I’m trying to reconcile the jog in the siding track and the grade crossing in the photo with your father’s field notes.

East Lynne had a jog in the siding and then the grade crossing before the north siding switch. This is what I see in the photo.

Harrelson had a grade crossing north of the north siding switch. There was a jog in the siding, but it was towards the south siding switch.

I first thought was Walnut Grove, MO., but the tracks at both Walnut Grove & Harrelson came in on curve, the tracks didn’t straighten out till after the crossing. Three of the photos were taken at one location, the other at a different location (notice the tank car behind the engine). Interesting…

My new Rule Number One is never use a cell phone sized image to try to ID a location. After I got home, last evening it’s clear to see that this “ain’t” Harrelson.
