This photograph is the only one that I’ve seen to show a locomotive this large to enter Pittsburg, KS. The 4143 had a Cooper’s rating of E-63, and could have gotten to Pittsburg via the Girard Branch from the north or via the Parson Sub from Cherokee. Both lines had a Bridge Rating of E-63. I doubt if the locomotive used the Girard Branch, since it had rail that was 70 lbs and less. The Parson Sub had 75lbs to 85lbs rail.
