Wish we knew more about this picture! There looks to be some business cars and other passenger cars in the train. Maybe an “investors” or “shippers” special of some sort??

This is OKC during the late 1960’s. The first car is one of the Frisco business cars which is followed by a Southern RR car that has been fitted with track geometry equipment. The Frisco leased this car to evaluate the condition of its main lines. My father rode this outfit when it coved the KC Sub, and he noted that even though the conventional rail had been replaced with CWR the geometry car could “see” where the old joints were located. He took some pictures when he rode; I will try and find them. It will also provide a better time frame with regard to a date.

Great Karl! Thanks for the info. One night back in that era, I was waiting at the Broadway Avenue grade crossing (In Springfield by the Anheiuser-Busch elevators), a freight was passing through into the yards. At the end of the train there were six Frisco and Southern business cars tacked on ahead of the caboose. This might have been about the same time as the archive photo??
