This is the Mechanical Department’s diesel shop service tracks area at Tennessee Yard. This is at the northeast corner of the fueling and sanding facilities, west of the diesel shop. Coupled south of the subject locomotive is SD45 942.
On the next service track over, behind SD45 939, are SD45 929 (left) and Union Pacific U30C 2884. An additional view in the Frisco Archive on this date of these locomotives is available here. That view is from the south end of the service tracks area.
The view is looking southwest.
