The locomotive is on the West Shop Lead/Clinton Subdivision. It is sitting east of the Kansas Avenue overpass, but west of JA Junction (located just west of Broadway Avenue). Immediately to the north of this photo location, behind the locomotive, will be the site of the diesel shop locomotive turntable.
This is east of the Springfield Diesel Shop and north of the east end of the service tracks areas. The tracks in the lower right corner are the diesel shop lead and east end of the service tracks area. The track just in front of the silver tank is the diesel pocket track.
The silver steel tank supplies the service track locomotive wash rack cleaning fluid. Its lettering indicates the detergent cleaning fluid used in the washing process, “Lix 360 E.”
The view is looking north.
Special thanks to Mark Davidson.
