Looks like this was probably in front of the old passenger depot, with 536 pointing south.
Maybe some of the Chaffeephiles can answer this, but I’ve noticed the concrete platform in between tracks in another of Ken’s photos. This looks like the foundational remnant of a water column?
I don’t remember seeing this on any of my 1980s post-merger unauthorized wanderings around the tracks. I have seen a photo from Tim Cannon showing a water column just south of Yoakum Ave. By my reckoning, this photo looks like it was probably just north of Yoakum? I suppose there could have been two columns in reasonably close vicinity.
