   This was the 1st engine I ever ran, I was 12 years old…Dad got a pass for me to ride with him so we rode #131 on Dec.27, 1976 from Springfield to Thayer…Out of West Plains the brakeman said “You outta let him run the engine up Strawberry Hill”, the hogger said “Yeah, I gotta take a leak anyway, come on over here and watch this thing for me” As I remember the only thing I did was notch out the throttle & blow the whistle a couple of times, but it was quite a thrill…Roger
