GP35 715 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (date unknown).
This photograph was taken just prior to the train crossing South Santa Fe Street. It has just departed the Frisco’s Oklahoma City Yard and crossed the North Canadian River. The photo was taken looking northeast from the Santa Fe Railroad overpass.
After crossing under the Santa Fe, just to the west, the train will run south of the Oklahoma City Union Station. This depot was a joint operation between the Rock Island and Frisco.
Special thanks to Mark Davidson.

The train is just now entering the Frisco’s Creek Subdivision.
Creek Subdivision trains used the Oklahoma Subdivision between Cherokee Yard and Sapulpa. Just south of Dewey Street is the south turnout of the wye at Sapulpa. The east and west turnouts are connections with the Oklahoma Subdivision.
This photograph was taken just south of the grade crossing with East Hobson Avenue and the view is looking southwest.
Immediately to the east (left) are the offices and locomotive shop of the Tulsa–Sapulpa Union Railway (TSU). These are located at 701 E Dewey Street.

Caboose 1233 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (date unknown). The F.M. unit is unidentified.
The photo was shot looking northeast from the South Lincoln Boulevard overpass. This is the west end of the Frisco’s East Yard. To the left of the diesel shop one can see the North Canadian River. The Frisco crosses the river just to the west of the Lincoln Boulevard overpass.
There are lots of neat details in this view including the locomotive shop, engine service tracks area (including two Union Pacific locomotives, at least one a GP30), repair-in-place (RIP) tracks, two H-10-44 locomotives, two cabooses, multiple (at least eight) company service diesel fuel yellow dome tank cars, etc.
Special thanks to Mark Davidson.

NW2 265 and SW1500 356 at Tulsa, Oklahoma (date unknown).
This photograph was taken at the Mechanical Department’s service tracks area at Cherokee Yard. The switch engines are awaiting their individual job assignments. Although coupled, they are not in consist as the NW2 is not equipped with multiple unit controls or associated apparatus.
To the south is the diesel shop, out of view to the right, at 2400 South Union Avenue. In the distance just below the horizon line, above the freight car red and yellow boxcars, is the West 23rd Street viaduct.
Visible near the left edge of the photo, across the Arkansas River, southeast of the central downtown core are several prominent buildings. The dark copper topped steeple is the 1929 vintage art deco Boston Avenue United Methodist Church at 1301 South Boston Avenue.
The two high rise buildings further right are the 15 story Boulder Towers (west tower, the east tower was added in 1980) at 1437 South Boulder Avenue and 24 story Liberty Tower at 1502 South Boulder Avenue. The later opened in 1965.
The view is looking northeast.
Special thanks to Mark Davidson.
