This appears to be at Staley, OK. The northbound train may be number 38, which has just crossed the Red River on the Katy, and it is now back on Frisco tracks as it crosses over US Hwy 69/79
After looking at Google Earth I have to agree. Everything matches up perfectly, the bridge, road even the telegraph poles (which are still standing on the 3/24/14 map). He would have been standing with his back to the Katy main line shooting to the NW. Thanks Karl!!!
Errata: Make that US Hwys 69/75
I absolutely love this image, it is my favorite caboose pic and I have it as my screen saver. The caboose looks exactly the way I remember them with the faded red paint and big windows in the copula. The scene is picture perfect with the two Frisco boxcars and the scenery. It’s fun to look at the image and daydream about riding in the caboose or just be standing there watching the train go by.
