Frisco depot Harrisonville, MO FM Edit 2/7/2024: This is the former Kansas City, Clinton and Springfield (KCCS) Railroad depot. It was on the Osceola Subdivision. Added depot narrative, mile post and subdivision. MKD
Hi, I live in Harrisonville, MO. My boyfriend's grandpa lives at what is currently 1809 N. Lexington, I am told that this location used to be a train station. I was just wanting to know more about this house. Is this true? We are considering buying it and I just wanted to know some of the history. I know that the Frisco and Missouri Pacific ran through the town. If anyone has any pictures or information please contact me! Thanks
A few folks have put some old railroad maps of Harrisonville, including field notes by Karl Brand's father at the following link. http://www.frisco.org/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=4436&d=1173580876 There is a photo of the old KC&S depot at the following. http://www.frisco.org/vb/showthread.php?t=1362&highlight=harrisonville If you ever visit Columbia, go to Ellis Library at Mizzou and ask for their special collections area. They have a vast array of old Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps for nearly every town in Missouri. Good luck. It should be a fun research project!
