In November 1980 Railroad and Railfan® magazine published "Farewell to the Frisco" by Jim Boyd about a day in Springfield, MO, May 13, 1980. At the end of his article Mr. Boyd describes making a trip to Grant Beach Park to see Frisco 4-8-4 4524. When I was a kid my dad took me to watch as they moved the locomotive through city streets using panel track and air pressure. One of my favorite Frisco memories.
