That appears to be the common configuration for the engineer’s side of the rear hood of the Frisco GP7s.
The L-shape single grab iron is the common configuration on the front end of the Frisco Gp-7s, however there are some variations with no grab irons on the fireman’s side of the front hood based on looking at lots of pictures. SLSF #523 appears to have had only a single low grab iron/step then had the L-shape grab iron added later. SLSF #614 appears to have been built and modified similarly to #523.
The grab irons at the chevron stripes are 2 separate items rather than L shaped as accustomed to seeing them on a GP 7.
