I love this pic ! this train is heading East and is 3 or 4 miles from Cherokee Yard, Route 66 runs beside the tracks on the south and I grew up in a house on the south side of Route 66, just a couple hundred feet from where this pic was taken. This is where I watched the orange and white era on the Frisco. 1522 returned to these rails in 01 or 02 on the BNSF employee special train and ran from Cherokee to the wye at Sapulpa and back 3 trips in one day……that was an awesome day. The scenery here has changed very little. SLSF caboose 1232 is on display 2 miles from this location back towards Sapulpa.
